In 2010 a team of scientists from UAE University found that the frog’s skins have antibacterial and anti fungal properties. Frogs have a certain compound known as antimicrobial peptides and are a string of amino acids.
These compounds were tested against various bacterial infections which happened to fight against to a certain level. This was later taken by keen interest by a group of scientists in from Moscow in 2012 which had shown promising results.
Still many scientists are skeptical of any real benefit coming from them. While this may never be proved scientifically but Russians seemed certain about it.
World frog population is dwindling. Possible reasons are climate change.
